About Our Roses

Flora grows over 40 different varieties of roses. These roses are all bred to produce long lasting cut flowers.
There is a selection criteria that a new variety must meet before Flora will consider growing in any commercial volume, these selection criteria can take up to twelve months. The selection criteria include the following;
Vase life
- This is important to Flora as we market the longevity of our Roses, once cut, and the extended vase life our customers will enjoy when purchasing a Flora grown rose
- The vast majority of Flora roses selected for commercial production are non-scented roses. The reason for this is quite simple, the fragrance of a field rose is an Ethylene gas that helps with the speedier deterioration of a cut rose, with the scent bred out of our roses, the vase life is drastically increased.
