Flora Propagation produces high quality rose cuttings to supply to commercial cut-flower rose growers throughout Australia
Flora Enterprises Australasia is the sole agent in Australia representing Rosen Tantau for cut-flower rose varieties. We introduce new varieties each year, usually following a visit to International Trade Shows in Europe where the best new products and varieties are showcased. Following the minimum 3 month post entry quarantine isolation in our onsite quarantine facility, we will expand the most promising varieties and observe their attributes for six to twelve months before releasing them to growers. Often, we will refer clients to our preferred licensed propagator - Australian Roses. Rose cuttings are produced over a 6 week period in our efficient facility. This facility features concrete flooring, rolling-benches, under-bench heating, grow-lights, fogging, misting and thermal screens. Our facility can easily accommodate 50 000 rose cuttings - however production is constantly in cycle to produce approximately 9000 cuttings weekly. All plant material or budwood is harvested from our production greenhouses at the perfect stage to ensure optimum energy within each new plant Following in-house trials during 2009/2010 we are currently preparing all cuttings in Jiffy 7 'Roseline' series plugs. These are the ideal potting product to sustain a cutting through the propagation process, through the rigors of transportation and finally to encourage rapid development in the final planting position in the greenhouse. |
